a new low

I feel that my good friend Mike Owen (linked left) has hit a new low. He is being openly mocked by his own father!

one of my questions

As those of you who speak to me regularly will know, I often ask random questions that I don't know the answer to. One of these has, for quite a while, been whether it is possible to buy plasters for people who have a skin colour different to that funny pink shade. Can you buy plasters for people who look Asian or African or Native American?

It turns out the answer is yes! Ebon-aide sell them! Now to find the next big question in life.

songs that don't work in the nato alphabet part 2

Further to my earlier post, my dear friend Kate suggested that great Church/football song:-

halfway to an audio-visual treat

Through the wonders of modern day internet technology I came across a fantabulous (new word - you like it?) website named Listen to a Movie. It does - as Ronseal would say - exactly what it says on the tin. You can listen to a movie, albeit in low quality, whilst sat at your computer.

It's something to do if you have far too much time on your hands, like I do

jose and his amazing technicolour dreamcoat

Thanks to my dear friend Mr Dave Cotterill, I present a video of the Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho singing about his coat. It was made about a year ago and the only change needed to bring it up to date is turning "We can't stop winning" into "We can't start winning!"

starbucks sued!

A lady in America is suing Starbucks for $114 million because they wouldn't give her a free coffee, BBC News reports. She claims that they withdrew an offer of free cups of coffee that was emailed to Starbuck employees to share with family and friends, with the sum representing the cost of drinks that would have been given away. What is the world coming to when they sue over coffee?

veni, vedi, wiki - or i came, i saw, i blogged

Seasoned visitors to my blog (ie those who have read some of the previous 150 posts) will have noticed that I refer a lot to Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia that is edited by everyone who wants to. It is generally a good source of information and, owing to the fact is is user edited, has an article on pretty much everything. If there isn't an article on it, you can create it!

This article from Wired News, an American tech magazine, tells of a journalist who wrote an article about "wikis" (user editable posts and articles) and then made it wiki-able! The results are certainly worth reading, especially in relation to the fast moving internet times!

songs that don't work in the nato alphabet

I was on the bus on the way to Songsters yesterday when I began to think of songs that wouldn't work in the NATO alphabet. These were the ones I came up with:

Alpha Bravo Charlie 1 2 3 by Jackson 5
Delta India Sierra Charlie Oscar by November-Trance
I Am A Charlie Hotel Romeo India Sierra Tango India Alpha November by your local Sunday School!
